Frequently asked questions

When will Pope Leo XIV visit Peru?

So far, one thing is confirmed: on 18 June 2026, Pope Leo XIV received Peru's interim president at the Vatican. After that audience, the president said the visit is expected in the first half of November 2026. That came from Peru's government, not the Holy See, and it is not yet official. We will update this answer as the Holy See confirms.

Which regions and cities does the visit include?

According to Peru's government, five cities are expected: Lima, Chiclayo, Piura, Cusco, and Pucallpa, with possible extra stops. Chiclayo is the heart of it, the diocese Pope Leo XIV led for eight years. The Holy See has not published an official itinerary yet, so this may change.
